Analysis of Space Odyssey (2001)

In the clip given there is diegetic sounds and non-diegetic sounds for example the screeching at the end of the clip we know this is diegetic because we see the characters react to the sound in pain as they hold their hands over their ears. An example of non-diegetic sound is the opera themed music at the start of the clip we know this is non-diegetic because not one of the characters react to the music and we do not see a source of the music in the clip.
