 Stewart Hall Audiences have a different reading on a product based on their upbringing, culture and political standpoint. Preferred reading- Accept what is told  Negotiated reading- what the ideology of a product messages is agreed with general however picked apart by the audience.  1- Cultivation theory links with negatives media effects as it desensitises people which makes them less empathetic. 2- Desensitisations is when people become less empathetic as they see negative things in the media. 3- Moral panic is the panic caused by respond to a recent media product that is thought to be threatening. 4- People use media for their own purposes they are able to recognise the differences between fantasy and escapism.  Technological convergence- The coming together of different technologies into one device its allowed media companies to provide multiple services Blackbox device- A device such as a smartphone that allows the audience to access a range of services. A digital media product video game Call Of Duty  The audience can access this game via consoles or a computer. They can buy this video game from retail stores or online stores an example of the store they can be bought from are Amazon, Steam and Argos.  The media product I have chosen is a game called Call Of Duty Cold war they used above the line marketing through trailers that where on video streaming services for example YouTube and Twitch it was also advertised on bus wrappings, this was because buses go all around towns so this uses of public marketing is really effective. However they also advertised the game through below the line marketing for example they had done a promotional event through one of the older versions of the game this obviously this attracted pre existing player to buy the game. Treyarch the producer of the game also released early models of the game to the public available for download so people could try the game out they also sent out parcels to content creators such as NoahJ456 and MrDalekJD. Activision and Unilever did a joint venture as Unilever promoted Call Of Duty cold war through Pot Noodle this mutually benefited both companies as many people would buy the pot noodle due to the promotional code...
