Q1a- Explain what the term 'DAB' means and state one advantage to the consumer of using DAB.

- DAB means Digital Audio Broadcasting an advantage of using DAB is that the radio waves are more compressed meaning it can pick up more radio waves whereas analogue can only pick up AM and FM radio waves which take a lot of air space meaning that you can't listen to as many radio channels so DAB allows you to access a wider range of radio stations (2)

Q1b- Explain Two reason why listening to radio via apps is more popular than listening via DTV (Digital Television)

- Listening to the radio via apps is more popular than listening to radio via DTV this is because DTV is at home whereas apps you can listen to anywhere making it portable this is also beneficial as you can listen to specific genres if you want you can also access content you have missed via the internet. (3)

Q2a- Explain what the acronym BARB stands for and what the organisation does.

- BARB stands for Broadcasters Audience Research Board they log data into a graph that they collect from Tv channels showing what Tv channels have been most watched. (They look at viewerships of Tv channels)

Q2b- Explain three interpretations that can be made about the differences in audience demographic between viewers of ITV1 and BBC2. Use examples and evidence from the data to support your answers.

- One interpretation is that more women watch ITV1 as their top 10 programs are mainly soap operas such as Coronation street and a large amount of the demographic of people who watch coronation street as the stereotype of people who watch soap operas are women. Another Interpretation is that more rich people/ or people in higher social grade will watch BBC2 as there are more shows such as The last kingdom and Versailles which require a decent amount of knowledge to watch and we can interpretative that people in a lower social grade would rather not watch these shows. Another interpretation that we can make out is that older males watch BBC2 Snooker is in the top ten of this channels and we can assume that people over 50 watch snooker as it is a very patient sport.

Q3a- Explain why an independent company often works with other companies as part of joint venture. use examples to support your answer.

Independent companies will work with other companies in a joint venture so they can get more profit and it'll make them more known. Joint venture are supposed to help each company. One example of a joint venture is between Sumo Digital and Lego this is when Lego had a promotional event in their game Forza Horizon 4 this promotion was called Forza Horizon 4: Lego Speed Champions This was mutually beneficial as the video game promoted Lego And lego promoted the game with a new lego set that they had created.                                                                                                                                                    (2)

Q3b- Explain two disadvantages of being an independent company. Use examples to support your answer

1- One disadvantage is that you might have to rely on joint ventures just to promote your product as the company might just be too small to promote it and it might be incredibly difficult to promote the product without a joint venture.

2- Another disadvantage of an independent company would be is that you won't be Able to reach other media sectors for example when sumo digital had to work with Microsoft to promote their video games

Q5- Identify Two post production job roles and for each explain how they contributed to a specific media products you have studied 

1- Video editing is a post production job role they contribute by making a video more enjoyable to watch and remove any unwanted scenes for example when you make a mistake for example there were many edited scene in the movie Avengers End game the two people that did the video editing for Avengers Endgame were Matthew Schmidt and Jeffery Ford.
