Preferred reading- Accept what is told  Negotiated reading- what the ideology of a product messages is agreed with general however picked apart by the audience. Opposition reading-where the message has been communicated scatted and the audience hate the ideology Active audience theory- The preferred meaning for FHM magazine could be that this woman is a model and most men like her body. Ideological beliefs that ideal beauty is what Lindsey Pelas looks like. For a heterosexual male that is an ideal woman and for a heterosexual female that is what they wish to look like.  1- Cultivation theory links with negatives media effects as it desensitises people which makes them less empathetic. 2- Desensitisations is when people become less empathetic as they see negative things in the media. 3- Moral panic is the panic caused by respond to a recent media product that is thought to be threatening. 4- People use media for their own purposes they are able to recognise the differences between fantasy and escapism.  Technological convergence- The coming together of different technologies into one device its allowed media companies to provide multiple services Blackbox device- A device such as a smartphone that allows the audience to access a range of services. A digital media product video game Call Of Duty  The audience can access this game via consoles or a computer. They can buy this video game from retail stores or online stores an example of the store they can be bought from are Amazon, Steam and Argos.
